How do you take those beautiful dreamy soft-focus photos? There are different ways, I'll mention a few here:
1) You can often get it by using a vintage lens, which is a lens from the analog era that you use on your new camera. I wrote a blog about this on my website. Link is here

2) Or with a type of Lensbaby lens, for example the soft focus optic in the Lensbaby Composer Pro.

3) Mist filters are also available. And some put Vaseline on their filter or lens.(That seems like a dirty business to me.)🤔🤪

4)  You can also hold something in front of or against the lens hat. Either between the lens and the subject or if there are subjects in front of the subject and then shooting between them. (they call that a peek through) which also creates very nice effects. Still others use a piece of see-through fabric (organza).

5) My Canon RF100mm lens has an extra Control-ring on it to take soft focus photos. If you like that, this lens is highly recommended.👌🏻 If you want to know more about this lens, click here

6) With double exposure in the camera with 2 photos, 1 photo in focus, the second photo out of focus over it. This is of course best done with stationary objects, flowers, mushrooms, etc. Set your camera so that the photos are stored separately from each other, then you can play around with them in Photoshop if necessary, for example regaining sharpness. More about double exposure in camera click here

7) Or you can do it afterward in photo editing, in photo editing software. There are many photo editing programs, too many to mention, perhaps with 1 click of a soft-focus button. But for me, the best photo editing software is adobe Lightroom and photoshop. I often use it as a combination, and adobe raw (you can only edit photos if you photograph in raw) I'll make a tutorial about it soon, klick here

I hope to have inspired you again, run to the store, or jump happily through a flower meadow with your current device & lens and give it a try. Have Fun!! ❤️
